There is a National Nanotechnology Program that will be reviewed by the government or Congress every three years, probably conducted by the National Academy of Sciences.  Each review has to include research priorities and appropriateness, whether or not the management of the program is effective, the accomplishments of the program -- big emphasis on 'its success in transferring technology to the private sector' -- and how the program relates to social and ethical problems affecting Americans.  This review will result in some published report I'm sure will be placed on some governmental website.

The first report it due on September 30, 2010, so be on the look out for that if you're interested in nanotechnology.

They also make a provision saying that 500,000 dollars are going to be set aside for the funding of such a report for each year.
